Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the app show no stock prices?

Deliberately. FilingoReader shows only what the SEC publishes — filings, and the figures reported inside them. Displaying US stock prices requires a redistribution licence from the exchange or a licensed vendor, which this app does not hold. Nothing here is investment advice.

Filings sometimes fail to load

The SEC requires every automated client to identify itself with a contact address, and it rejects requests that do not. Set one under Settings → SEC contact — use an address you can be reached at. The SEC also limits how fast a client may request, so if a list comes back empty, wait a moment and pull down to refresh.

The reader shows a page from sec.gov instead of the filing

That is the SEC's own notice, served when it treats a request as automated. It is not stored by the app. Go back and open the filing again; if it keeps happening, try a different filing, and make sure a contact address is set as described above.

How do I add or remove a company?

On iPhone, open the Watchlist tab and use the menu in the top right: Add stock or Edit watchlist. On iPad the same actions live behind the + button above the sidebar.

How do I get rid of the ads?

Settings → Remove Ads offers a one-time purchase that removes every ad on all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. If ads come back after reinstalling, use Restore purchases.

How do I get notified about new filings?

Settings → Notifications turns on a background check for new 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings from your watchlist. iOS decides when those checks run; they happen a couple of times a day at most. If notifications were refused, turn them back on in iOS Settings → Notifications → FilingoReader.

Does my watchlist sync between devices?

Only if you turn it on: Settings → iCloud → Sync watchlist via iCloud. It is off unless you enable it, and it uses your own iCloud account — nothing is sent to us.

What does the app store on my device?

Your watchlist and preferences, plus caches of SEC data and of the artwork on the Recommended Apps screen so screens load quickly and work offline. Deleting the app removes all of it. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
