FilingoReader Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Overview

FilingoReader shows company filings and financial figures published by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). You do not need an account, and we do not operate a server that stores information about you.

FilingoReader is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads are supplied by Google AdMob. Because of this, the app does collect some data — not for us, but for our advertising partner. Sections 3 and 4 explain exactly what and why.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not require an account, email address, or any personal details.
  • We do not ask for your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location.
  • We do not use analytics SDKs of our own, and we do not build a profile of you.
  • We do not sell your data.

Your watchlist and preferences are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

3. Information Collected by Our Advertising Partner

Ads in FilingoReader are served by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or displayed, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), where you have allowed tracking;
  • Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it (typically city or region level);
  • Device and connection details, such as device model, operating system version, language, and network type;
  • Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped.

This data is used to deliver and measure advertising, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to detect and prevent fraud. It may be combined with data collected by Google across other apps and websites.

Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours:

4. Your Choices: App Tracking Transparency

The first time you open FilingoReader, iOS asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. The app works either way.

  • If you allow tracking, Google may use your advertising identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you.
  • If you ask the app not to track, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised using your advertising identifier. Google may still use limited data, such as your IP address and general location, to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud.

You can change this decision at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. You can also reset your advertising identifier from the same screen.

5. App Permissions

FilingoReader requests only the following permissions:

  • Network access — to retrieve publicly available SEC filing data from the EDGAR system, and to request ads.
  • Tracking permission — optional, as described in section 4.

6. SEC Data Sources

FilingoReader uses only data publicly provided by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) via the EDGAR system:

  • Company information and stock ticker mappings.
  • Filing history and metadata.
  • Financial data (XBRL format).
  • Complete filing documents (HTML, XML, PDF, etc.).

All data is obtained directly from SEC official servers. We do not modify, cache (beyond temporary network caching), or redistribute any of this data.

7. Data Security

We do not operate a server that stores your information, so there is no store of user data on our side that could be breached. Data held by Google as our advertising partner is protected under Google's own security practices.

Cached SEC responses and the catalogue artwork for the Recommended Apps screen are kept on the device so the app is faster and recently viewed content works offline. They contain no personal information, they are never sent anywhere, and they are removed when you delete the app.

8. Children's Privacy

FilingoReader is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is not configured to serve ads to users we know to be children.

9. Policy Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the revision date will be updated. Please review this page periodically for any changes.
